2019 Golf Classic Recap

2019 Golf Classic Recap

The weather was perfect for the players to get out of the office for the day and take in the breathtaking view at the Deer Valley Golf Club while raising funds for the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The 14th annual REMAX Charity Golf Classic is in the books as the event wrapped up on Friday, August 16.

The Foundation’s mission is to raise funds to enhance maternal and children’s healthcare in Saskatchewan along with the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. The Foundation’s pillars include family-centered care, equipment and technology enhancements, and research and innovation.

To start off the day, attendees were treated to a barbecue lunch during the registration process and then fired up the golf carts to hit the course at 1 p.m.

Not only did attendees play a round of golf, but sponsors also set up booths and games at various holes to ensure players were having a good time, even when they were waiting to tee off.

Following the tournament, all the attendees gathered in the clubhouse for a fantastic dinner, prizes and silent auctions to further raise funds.

Ben the Champion Child from the Foundation was able to attend the event and speak on behalf of all children with medical needs.

You would never know it to look at him, but 11-year-old Ben Fizzard’s heart has been in perilous health. In 2014, while playing tag during school recess, Ben, an active, sports-loving kid, suffered a shocking cardiac arrest. While happy and healthy now, Ben remains a regular visitor to pediatrics in Saskatoon for monitoring and care. He is one of the many children who will, on occasion, call the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital home.

We concluded the night’s program by announcing the cheque presentation and silent auction winners. With the help of everyone involved, after the final count, we were able to raise over $25 thousand for the Foundation.

Thank you to all our sponsors and clients for coming out and enjoying a great day of golf and games for a great cause!

We would like to especially thank the following sponsors for helping us make the golf tournament a success!
