The Regina Floral Conservatory (RFC) is one of Regina’s “Hidden Gems”. The RFC is open seven days a week from September to June with free admission and provides a unique, tranquil indoor tropical garden of enjoyment and education for all ages! The city of Regina formed a partnership with the non-profit volunteer organization Regina Garden Associates (RGA) in 1999 to operate and maintain the greenhouse display and oversee special events. The RGA hosts several teas, family days, and rents out the space for weddings, meetings and other events each year.
Members of the RGA have been seeking a larger and more modern conservatory for a number of years. Wascana Centre’s dream of a new floral conservatory in Regina is one step closer to reality with the recent finalization of the schematic design and conceptual drawings.
RGA is hoping construction will begin somewhere between 2023 and 2027, but this will depend on fundraising and upcoming building approvals. The planned location for the proposed new conservatory is west of Old Broad Street and south of Lakeshore Drive with a larger all-season facility. The new conservatory would boast three garden spaces — a seasonal rotating garden, permanent desert, tropical gardens, café, and room for a multi-purpose space that can be rented out for events, classrooms.
